From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On Saturday July 27, 2013 at 11:30PM et I landed at kctj (West Georgia Regional Airport/o.v gray field) on runway 35 under VFR conditions, with my father privacy data omitted as my sole passenger. Aircraft was a PA-28-151 Piper warrior with 180HP STC. Upon landing I was taxing down runway 35 with the intention of turning off on the mid field taxi way. Approximately fifty yards from the taxi way the nose of the aircraft collided with a deer as the deer crossed the runway from west to east, spinning the animal toward the right side of the plane; at which point the propeller (at idle) descended down through the deer bisecting it in half. After impact the engine immediately stalled and the plane came to rest on the center line 20 yards from the mid field taxi way. The aircraft was left on the runway (anti collision lights on) until the local sheriff's deputy came to complete a report. At which point the aircraft and the remains of the deer were cleared from the runway. Please let me know if you need any additional information. Attached is the FAA wild life strike report I completed this morning. Thank you,
