What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
On July 31, 2013 a Cessna 402B, N3MZ, landed gear up in caldwell, NJ (cdw) at 2214L. In a report the airman stated he made a normal downwind entry to runway 22. Approach flaps were set and the pilot turned for his base leg. The pilot overshot final due to many ground lights and not being able to see the runway. The aircraft was 25 to 30 degrees off from centerline and the airman adjusted his final and applied full flaps. The aircraft then landed with the landing gear stowed.
The pilot further stated that he forgot to extend the landing gear and there were no mechanical irregularities that would have prevented its proper operation. The aircraft was later placed on jacks and the landing gear was extended normally.
The initial review of the aircraft records indicate there maybe additional airworthiness violations to be handled as a separate matter.
