From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 08/13/2013 the pilot was returning to his home base Mesa falcon field (ffz) after a short flight to pinal county, AZ. The pilot entered the traffic pattern at approximately 10:15 am for runway 04 landing falcon field.

After performing his first gump check he noticed he did not have a green indication light indicting the landing gear is down and locked, ( Cessna P210 only have one green light for the 3 main landing gear). The pilot checked the green light by a press to test procedure which determined if the indicator light was operating normally.

The pilot reported the situation to the tower and requested a fly by. The tower confirmed the aircraft had 3 landing gear in the down position. The pilot requested to leave the pattern to execute the emergency landing gear extension check list and perform some maneuvers which might aid in a down and locked position.

The pilot after several attempts returned to (ffz) where he made a slow approach setting the aircraft down on the main gear first and holding the nose off the runway for as long as possible. The pilot slowly set the nose down on the runway and as the aircraft slowed the nose of the aircraft begun to fall. The aircraft continued to slow down to approximately 15 knots when the nose of the aircraft continued to fall striking the propeller and coming to rest.

As the FAA filed it
