From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 8/23/2013, at approximately 09:30 a.m. CST, the privacy data omitted operator of Gulfstream-Schweizer G-164B aircraft, N8402K, s/n 687B, was acting as the pilot-in-command while engaging in a routine agricultural flight. On takeoff, the aircraft settled back into the ground at the departure end of the runway. From the pilots interview, he stated that he had performed a reduced power takeoff, which resulted in the aircraft not acquiring sufficient airspeed to remain in flight out of ground effect, settling into a soy bean field at the end of the runway. The aircraft sustained wing, fuselage, landing gear and propeller damage. There were no injuries to the PIC. The flight originated at a private agricultural airstrip approximately 5 miles west of Walnut Ridge, AR under visual metrological conditions. A flight plan was not filed and no flight services used.
