From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

There was a right crosswind on runway 36 (050@08KT). The pilot stated he was in a crab at touchdown and the aircraft immediately veered left. He had right aileron for the crosswind and added right rudder. The aircraft did not respond. The aircraft was headed for a corn field. The pilot added power to go around. He saw trees and believed he would not clear them. He reduced power and landed in the corn field. The nose dug in the ground and the aircraft flipped over its nose, winding up on its back, upside down.
