From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During a taxi operation without the intent of flight, N1648G made contact with a parked Helio aircraft, N4148D resulting in substantial damage to both aircraft.

Due to the airman's uncooperativeness, the following information is based on witness and first responder statements only.

Immediately after engine start, the aircraft was observed to be at a high power setting based on the sound of the engine and air flow velocity behind the aircraft.

After briefly veering left, the aircraft immediately veered right and impacted the parked and tied down aircraft.

After removing the airman, the throttle control position was observed to be at approximately 3/4 open and the carburetor heat control was located in the full hot position.
