From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot departed grass strip at plymouth NH. And flew approximately 10 miles to Stinson lake in Rumney NH. With the intention to land in the lake. Pilot never retracted the landing gear after takeoff.

Piloted stated that in preparation to land he did a gear indication check but did not remember what color he saw. Just prior to touch down he received the landing gear audible warning that the gear was extended. He immediately applied full power but said the aircraft did not seem to respond fully and realized the aircraft would still impact the lake. He advised passenger to brace for impact.

Aircraft touched down and flipped over. Both occupants were able to evacuate the aircraft with no injuries.

During a follow up converstaion with the pilot on 09/03/13 he stated that the next day he went into the aircraft o retrieve some personal items and found that he found the throttle and prop levers pushed in but he failed to push the mixture to full rich for his go around.
