From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot fook off from a grass strip in lydia, s.c. to spray a cotton field. During spraying the field the pilot pulled up to turn to the right and applied right rudder pedal and the pedal broke off the tube and went all the way back to the hopper. The pilot decided to fly back to his main strip in Woodrow, s.c. as the aircraft touched down it began to turn to the left due to not being able to apply right rudder. The aircraft skidded into a soybean field and the landing gear broke off and the wing struck the dirt and bent just past mid wing. The pilot states that he believes that there was also a prop strike.
