From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 10/24/2013, the pilot hand propped his Aeronca 65-TAC (N36954) in front of his hangar at Northwest Regional Airport (52F), Roanoke, TX, for the purpose of doing a run-up. The throttle was set a little excessive, and upon starting up, the aircraft began an uncommanded taxi between the t hangars. The aircraft traveled approximately 60 yards and struck another hangar door, dislodging it from it's upper track. The door then impacted the spinner of an aircraft stored in the hagar, but damaged only the spinner of the aircraft. The aircraft sustained damage to the wooden prop, spinner, and the engine enclosure, all of which are defined as minor.
