From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On October 25, 2013, at approximately 11:40 CDT, N398MA, a Cessna T210-L, was on a part 91 flight from thomas p. stafford (oja), located in weatherford, Oklahoma. During the cruise portion of the flight the engine failed to produce power. The pilot was vectored by air traffic control to rick husband international airport (ama), located in amarillo, Texas. The pilot decided to land at Hutchinson County Airport (bgd), located in Borger, Texas. Since the aircraft was losing airspeed the pilot decided to land on a road in the city of Borger, Texas. During landing the aircraft impacted through several power lines and came to rest in the cofield community center recreational park located approximately one mile southeast of bgd. The aircraft was destroyed. The pilot and passenger were able to extricate themselves from the aircraft. The passenger received minor injuries. Inspection of the engine revealed a small upper portion of the left engine case separated above number four cylinder and departed the engine.
