From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot departed W42 at approximately 0830HRS with his Luscombe aircraft and landed at 0W3 at approximately 0900HRS for the purpose of a maintenance relocation flight. Pilot then departed 0W3 at approximately 0930 with his Taylorcraft (N52CW) and returned to W42. While on approach to runway 22 he noted that a truck was on the runway performing asphalt repairs. Winds were at 3-5 and favoring runway 04. He continued the landing sequence for runway 22. After touchdown and during roll out the left wing struck the cab of the truck being utilized for the runway repair. The aircraft engine was running and at idle power at the time of impact.

No injuries were received by the person performing the runway repairs. Damage to the aircraft consists primarily of a broken spar on the left wing approximately 3 feet inboard from the tip, and associated tears in the fabric covering.
