From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot in command (PIC) fueled up at medesto airport (30 gallons) and took off from medesto airport to Lodi airport without incident and landed safely at the Lodi airport. PIC took off from the Lodi airport without any problems. Within 12 minutes into the flight the PIC experienced noise coming from the tachometer and then the tachometer stopped. He scaned the instruments, there was oil pressure and engine temperature was good. PIC then started to lose power, he then turned to his house while at cruise. The PIC switched fuel tanks and primed the engine, engine started to run better at full power. Within minutes the engine was barely runnig, he pushed the primer and the engine got better, then the engine began running ruff and was shaking. Just after that the engine stopped and would not restart. Both he and his passenger opened both doors and turned towards an open field to dead stick the aircraft in for a safe landing. The aircraft went over the fence and hit the ground, PIC held the stick back and went down the hill at approximatly 60 to 70 mph. At the botton the hill the aircraft ran into a ditch that caused the aicraft to nose over landing upside down.

As the FAA filed it
