From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During a local flight, the pilot was returning to the airport and cleared for a straight in to runway 27. The pilot uses a 'checkmate' brand checklist and stated he also performs a "gump" check about 1.5 miles out.

The pilot selected gear down and took his hand off the lever once he saw the green light. He doesn't remember hearing any intermittent gear unsafe warning horn or seeing a red gear unsafe light. He was wearing a bose noise cancelling headset at the time, but stated that he's heard the gear horn through the headset before during power reductions.

He stated that he "always" checks the gear down on short final and to the best of his memory, believes he had a green landing gear indication.

During the flare, he did not remember hearing any gear warning horn and doesn't remember if the green landing gear light was illuminated or not.

The pilot flared the aircraft and felt a little "shimmy" during touchdown. He stated that the aircraft did not land on its wheels, that it was a belly landing.
