From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

01/06/2014, Upon landing roll out the pilot lost control of the aircraft as it drifted left of the center line. As the pilot applied right rudder to correct drift the pilot also applied right brakes in which the pilot over corrected. This action caused the aircraft to enter into a ground loop effect and rotated 270 degrees with the aircraft pointed across runway 18 with the tail wheel in the grass boardering the runway. The pilot and passenger exited the aircraft unhurt and removed the aircraft from the runway. The ground crews repositioned the aircraft to the transient parking area. The aircraft experienced damage to the left landing gear attach point to the fuselage. The aircraft was eventually moved from this location to a maintenance hangar. Inspection to the aircraft revealed skin wrinkles on the left side of the forward fuselage and extending downward to under the aircraft forward of the left lower wing strut attach point.

As the FAA filed it
