From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On January 15, 2014 aircraft N235SE was on takeoff roll on runway 3R at Peachtree Dekalb airport (kpdk). The pilot stated that upon roll out at approximately 40 KTS the aircraft drifted right and off the runway where it suddenly stop due to aircraft sinking in the mud. On January 16, 2015 the aircraft was removed from sight to inspect possible cause of the aircraft leaving the runway. Upon the inspection the only mechanical item that was found was the nose steering roller was out of adjustment by a considerate amount. Upon receiving technical information; Piper PA-46-500TP 32-20-00 page 1 revision jul 1/09; the out of adjustment nose gear steering rollers would have cause shimmy the nose gear during fast taxi, takeoff or landing. A nose gear shimmy would not cause the aircraft to drift off the runway. Upon further review of the maintenance items I could not find anything that would cause the aircraft drift to the right on takeoff roll. During the interview the pilot in command he did line up on the runway right hand side of the center line.

As the FAA filed it
