From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The aircraft departed WA87, parkside airpark, battle ground, WA at approximately 10:45 am PST on 02/22/2004, for a pleasure flight conducted under part 91 with the pilot as the sole occupant. The pilot stated during takeoff the airplane felt sluggish, but was able to climb and maintain airspeed. He did not want to attempt to circle and land at WA87 due to obstacles (high trees) around the airport so he decided to go to spb, Scappoose Industrial Airpark, Scappoose, OR. He made a normal landing on rwy 15 at approximately 11:45 am PST, but during roll out he became distracted by engine's lack of power and diverted his attention to the instruments. While distracted, the aircraft swerved to the right and the right main gear wheel got into the loose gravel and turf when he over corrected to the left causing the aircraft to ground loop and fold the right main gear under the fuselage and the right wing to contact the ground bending the aft wing spar before the aircraft came to a full stop. The pilot was not injured.
