From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

"Incident report - bird strike N193BJ on 03/13/2014, at- kroc - ksgj 10:20AM departure departing from us airports flight support, PIC, SIC + 5 passengers

From PIC statement:

At approximately 10:20 am on March 13th, 2014, I was captain on N193BJ. After given clearance for take-off, we taxied onto runway 4, stopped, applied take-off power and began the normal take-off procedure. The take-off was normal and at approximately 400 feet the aircraft ingested a large bird in the right engine. The engine immediately failed. My first office and I then declared an emergency, and followed the aircrafts emergency procedures and returned to the airport and landed without further incident."

- The ATIS recording from that day did not mention bird activity or warnings. Current season for the migration of the snow goose.
