From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft then veered right and struck pile of brush with RH wing, spun around and then struck the ground, causing the LH main gear to collapse. Fabric aircraft sustained substantial damage to vertical stabilizer, horizontal stabilizer, LH wing, RH wing, tail and fuselage.

Pilot reports the winds were gusting, which caused him to err. Weather nearby reported as: kdkr 211915Z auto 17007G14KT 85M clr 26/17 A2996 rmk A0Z.
