From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

While taxiing N59154, a Boeing A75N1 commonly referred to as a stearman, southbound from the area near the fuel farm towards runway 35. The pilot, privacy data omitted, made a right turn through the aircraft tie down area and struck a parked aircraft, N6413X a Cessna 180. N6413X was parked on the west side of the taxi line with the tail facing east. The tie down affixed to the ground for the tail of the aircraft is located approximately 40 feet from the centerline of the taxiway. Witnesses say they saw N59154 taxiing faster than the normal 5-10 knot taxi speed and estimated that N59154 was taxiing between 15-20 knots at the time of the incident. When N59154 struck N6413X it was traveling fast enough that when the brakes were applied to stop the aircraft the tail of N59154 rose into the air approximately 6-8 feet, as described by witnesses. No injuries were reported and according to witness accounts N59154 sustained minor scratches to the propeller and spinner. N59154 departed the airport before pictures by the airport manager could be taken.
