From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The instructor and student pilot were practicing touch and go landings on runway 27 at ykm. The control tower reported the wind was 280 at 20 KTS. The aircraft bounced during the fifth landing causing the student to add power and let the aircraft settle back on the runway. At this point a wind gust hit the aircraft from the right causing the aircraft to become airborne.

The instructor called for and the student applied full power as the aircraft started turning left. The student also applied full right aileron and full right rudder. However, the aircraft continued turning left until it struck the ground, flipped, and landed upside down. The student and instructor sustained no serious injuries.

Ykm ATC reported a possible dust devil was in the area.
