From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On March 31, 2014 Mr. De blois boarded the pac 750 N216PK, (flown by privacy data omitted) at the 5W4 airport to participate in training jumps. At approximately 9:05AM privacy data omitted initiated a high performance turn

Under a fully functioning parachute above the pond at the Pk Airpark. It appears that Mr. De blois might have lost one of the control toggles or he initiated this turn at too low of an altitude to allow for the parachute to recover, which resulted in a impact on the south corner of the pond in the grass. Witnesses to include several army medics, rushed to him to assess his injuries. Hoke county EMS was called at the time of the accident. The medic's onsite performed cpr on Mr. De blois until EMS arrived. Response time of the EMS was 7 minutes. The paramedics informed the operator that life flight was on the way, but after attempting to stabilize him unsuccessfully they canceled the helicopter and loaded him into the

Ambulance for transport. After Mr. De blois was transported from the scene

Raeford aviation staff secured Mr. De blois's equipment and closed the west

(Pond) side of the airport to jumping for the remainder of the day. Later on that day the operator was informed from the hospital (cape fear regional) that Mr. De blois had passed away from his injuries. The operator contacted the united states parachute association, the hoke county sheriff's department and the FAA.
