From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

PIC of N6248R landed on runway 20R at Birchwood Airport. During landing touchdown PIC lost directional control of aircraft. PIC attempted to regain control of aircraft with rudder, brake, and aileron. PIC applied heavy brake action causing aircraft to nose over onto the runway. Surface contact was made to the aircraft propeller, spinner and lower engine cowl. PIC reported light crosswinds.

FAA inspectors were present at the time of event, but did not witness the incident. An FAA inspector attempted to interview the PIC shortly after the event, but PIC refused to talk about the incident.
