From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On the flight from bedford (kbed) to goose bay Canada (cyyr) at the cruising altitude of FL230 and -33 c the pilot (privacy data omitted) heard a ?puff? And the engine loss power. He declared an emergency with boston center and proceeded to glide into Bangor (kbgr). He landed kbgr runway 33 without further incident and taxied to the general aviation ramp under the aircrafts power. The aircraft was checked out at the local fixed base operator (FBO) and no abnormalities were found. The pilot ran the aircraft up and did several local traffic pattern flights with no engine problems.

The pilot contacted a Piper malibu specialist and they discussed possible moisture in the fuel. The aircraft had just flown into kbed from Florida and the possibility of moisture in the fuel on this flight and the concern it might have frozen at the high altitude causing the power lose. The pilot added isopropyl alcohol per their discussion since he would be flying at high altitudes and cold temperatures enroute to germany.

The pilot made 4 scheduled stops, including refueling at each, as he continued to kiel germany (edhk) with no further issues.

As the FAA filed it

ON THE FLIGHT FROM BEDFORD (KBED) TO GOOSE BAY CANADA (CYYR) AT THE CRUISING ALTITUDE OF FL230 AND -33 C THE PILOT (^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^) HEARD A ?PUFF?
