From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

While the 2 pilots were flying together the pilots and the aircraft obtained an unusual flight attitude and as per several witnessess, the aircraft spun into the ground. One witness said they did not hear an engine running until the aircraft headed straight down to the ground, and then it sputtered as it hit the ground. Several people said they heard a whoosing sound as the aircraft turned east, but with no engine running. They all said the aircraft was at a height of approximately 200-400 feet. The Merritt Island airport (kcoi) is approximately 1.7 miles south of the point of impact.
