From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

An R-44 helicopter operating under PART135 in VFR conditions, picked up 2 passengers and attempted a landing approximately 35 NM north of Coldfoot AK. The pilot came to an out of ground effect hover (oge), at gross weight and terrain elevation of approximately 2500 ft. at the planned landing area. Heading into higher terrain and descending into the planned landing area from the oge hover, the RPM began to decay. He turned down hill in a decent and touched down on a downslope. The helicopter went over on it's nose and rolled downslope. Substantial damage and no injuries.
