From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Weather was clear, with the winds from 200 degrees at 5 knots. The aircraft landed center of runway and was on landing rollout, with the engine at idle. About half way through the rollout, the aircraft suddenly pulled hard to the right. The pilot applied the left brake in an attempt to bring the aircraft back to the center of the runway. When the left brake released, the aircraft was pointed towards a corn field. The right main landing gear made contact with a furrow where the right landing gear separated from the aircraft. The right wing collapsed to the ground and slid along the corn until the left gear contacted the furrow. At that point the aircraft started a slide to the left until the left gear collapsed. At that point, the aircraft rotated up on its nose and to left, where the wing sustained damage at the outer wing tip upon contact with the ground. At that time the aircraft settled back to the ground in an upright position.

As the FAA filed it
