From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot reported that at approximately 1300 hrs he was attempting a 2nd touch-and-go at Gwinnett county airport (lzu) runway 25. The weather was clear with light winds. As he leveled off just before touch down he heard a loud sound and the nose of the aircraft pitched down to the ground after which the plane skidded to a straight stop. Upon inspection it was found that the nose wheel bracket had broken off of the strut tube at the welded joint and was found 100 yrds off the side of the runway from the point of impact. The aircraft was moved off the runway and taken to the lzu experimental aircraft hangars. Further inspection of the aircraft revealed that when the nose strut impacted with the ground, it was pushed back against and had damaged the engine firewall. There was no other damage to the aircraft.
