From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

N519JG, a joe gibbs racing Saab 2000 aircraft, struck the tailcone of N141SH, a stewart-haas racing cl 200, while taxxing in the ramp area.

The PIC stated "on taxi back, there were 4 large aircraft on the ramp, two north of taxiway d, two south of taxiway d. I entered at d and proceeded north behind the two haas aircraft. I passed behind the first aircraft without difficulty, then slowed to pass behind the second. The secondwas more difficult to pass since there were three Cessna aircraft parked along the ramp edge. I was confident I would clear the tail of the haas aircraft and began watching the Cessna on the right. privacy data omitted Said I had room and could come further right. As I began to move further right I hit the rear of the haas aircraft with out left wingtip. I don't think the haas aircraft was chocked and it began to roll back. I set the brakes and shut down the engines".

The sic's only additional comment was that he told the PIC that the taxi route was "tight" and that his attention would be diverted to the right due to aircraft being parked there.

Damage to N519JG, a Saab 2000, was a broken plastic left wingtip light cover, broken wingtip position light, broken strobe light lens, and a tear in the outboard deice boot.

Damage to N141SH, a crj 200, was a damaged fiberglass fuselage extention below the rudder and the ELT located in the area was activated.

As the FAA filed it

^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ SAID I HAD ROOM AND COULD COME FURTHER RIGHT.
