From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

N110JC had just landed at hnl and was hovering into parking. The winds at hnl were reported as 18 KTS gusting to 25 KTS. As the aircraft hovered between hangars a strong gust of wind hit the aircraft. As the pilot attempted to control the aircraft in the strong wind, the aircraft started spinning to the right. The pilot attempted recovery from the spin by lowering the collective control. The aircraft struck the ground hard and came to rest on it's right side against a fuel truck. The three occupants exited the aircraft and were treated at the scene for minor injuries. The aircraft did not appear to have any mechanical malfunction. An inspection revealed the tailrotor controls and drive shaft remained intact.
