From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Airman departed ksgs (south saint paul, MN) enroute to Y95 (hellman, MI). Enroute near 3D2 (Ephraim, WI) pilot encountered weather and diverted to 3D2 airport for fuel and to allow time for weather improvement. In traffic pattern at 3D2 pilot stated that he lowered gear and felt drag of gear. Pilot could not remember gear indication and did not see any gear unsafe indication. Inspection indicated aircraft landed with gear in the retracted position. After aircraft was lifted the landing gear was cycled down and locked into place without a green safe light. Gear was then retracted normally and subsequently extended again with proper green gear down indication. Inspection by airworthiness determined that gear indication/warning was intermittently defective.

As the FAA filed it
