From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On August 12, 2014, at approximately 15:20 eastern daylight time, a 2007 ea 500 aircraft, N717LK, sustained minor damage following the failure of the right brake during rollout after landing on runway 01 at Greenwood Municipal Airport (hfy) in Greenwood, Indiana.

The airline transport pilot occupant was not injured and there were no passengers onboard. The airplane was registered to kolssak jets, inc., IN francesville, Indiana, and was being operated under the provisions of 14 code of federal regulations part 91 as a personal flight. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed and the flight was operated on an instrument flight rules flight plan.

The pilot stated that after a normal touchdown on the runway centerline, the aircraft swerved sharply to the left when the brakes were applied. The pilot stated that after correcting for the swerve, the brakes were again applied with the same result. The pilot stated he attempted a brake system reset according to the Eclipse aviation emergency procedures, but the reset had no effect. The pilot stated he continued brake application during the rollout, correcting for the swerve to the left with each application, until nearing the end of the 5,100 foot long by 75 foot wide runway. The pilot stated he attempted to make the left turn onto a taxiway, but the speed was still too high. The aircraft then exited the runway, striking a runway light and a runway marker sign.

A series of tire skid marks were observed on the runway and across the taxiway leading to tire tracks in the grass, ending approximately 200 feet left of the departure end of runway 01. Remains of a runway light and runway marker sign were observed in the area of the tire tracks.

The aircraft sustained a puncture in the leading edge of the left wing and two puncture holes in the lower surface of the left flap.

As the FAA filed it
