From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot made a hard landing. According to a witness he heard a loud crash and the sound of screeching tires on the pavement. Witness noticed the aircraft bouncing upward 6 to 8 feet over the runway at approximately 1500 feet from the threshold of runway 24. The pilot tried to correct with an inappropriate use of the left aileron, the airplane dropped to the runway nose first and continued porpoising down the runway. The aircraft was significantly damaged at the lower engine firewall and the right wing leading edge (stall kit installed).
