What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Upon the first landing of an instructional flight for a commemorative air force aircraft check-out, the aircraft veered left and ground looped. The outboard two feet of right wing sustained damage, as well as tail wheel assembly, and right main tire and wheel assembly. No injuries. The right tail wheel control cable was detached from tail wheel assembly; the attachment clip had been torn loose. During landing roll-out, as aircraft speed slowed, the rudder became ineffective and the tail wheel did not respond to rudder pedal input. FAA inspector found that the tail wheel control cable attachment clips and cables were suspected unapproved parts.
