What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Pilot had purchased aircraft two weeks proir to accident flight. Pilot had obtained ground and flight instruction to transition from his CE-310 to accident aircraft (CE-414). Witness states aircraft entered pattern on a l/h base leg direction and dove slightly to lose altitude. Aircraft pulled up but power was not applied. Aircraft entered a stall/spin, doing 3 l/h rotations prior to impact in a slight nose down flat attitude. Post accident fire consumed entire fuselage.
Investigation found engine throttles at idle, evidence of rotation found on the propellers and turbo-charger impellers. Fuel selector valves set to main. Field teardown of engines found no obvious sign of inflight shutdown or engine problems. At this time no mechanical explanation can be found for the accident
