From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

CFI stated that his commercial student was cleared to land at ttd on runway 25. He was asked to perform a soft field landing. The student landed the aircraft without incident but then raised the gear handle instead of the flap handle during rollout. The nose landing gear (NLG) collapsed allowing the propeller to strike the ground and causing the engine to suddenly stop. Both CFI and student exited the aircraft without injury. The propeller, NLG doors and engine cowling support structure were damaged by contact with the ground but primary structure did not appear damaged.

As the FAA filed it
