From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On September 25, at approximately 11:10 local time, capeair flight 1029 was cleared for, and executing, an ILS approach to runway 23 at the slk airport. When the pilot attempted to extend the aircraft's landing gear during the approach, the pilot noted a fault indication on the right main gear. The pilot executed a missed approach and attempted to troubleshoot the faulted gear indication, without success. The pilot declared an emergency with ATC and committed to a gear up landing at the slk airport on runway 23. Upon landing, the right wing of the aircraft contacted the pavement. The aircraft slid approximately 450 feet along the runway, veered to the right, and came to rest approximately 3200 from the approach end of the runway. The passengers and crew exited the aircraft. No injuries were reported. Later examination of the aircraft determined that the right main gear failed to depoly due to a failed hydraulic up-lock actuator. Aircraft damage was largely cosmetic, with minor chaffing to the trailing edges of the right side flight controls; the outboard, under-side of the right wing tip; and right-side belly of the aircraft.

As the FAA filed it
