From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The rated pilot has water landed on lake lobdel numerous times with approaches from many different areas. After his decision to land into the wind to the northwest, he circled the area to look for obstructions and then set up for his landing. On short final, he observed a power line stretching across his path. He made a quick correction and as he passed below, the left wing tip contacted the line. He felt a brief yaw to the left and the aircraft straightened without adverse conditions. The pilot then conducted a go around, assessed the damage and flight conditions. He noticed the left wing tip was deformed but the aircraft flew uninhibited. He then set up for another approach on a different location of the lake and landed without issues.
