From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

privacy data omitted, A student pilot receiving flight instruction on soft field take offs and landings by privacy data omitted at Tweed new Haven airport (khvn) in East Haven Connecticut on runway 14. The reported winds at khvn were from 130 degrees at 8 knots. privacy data omitted Started the take off roll, correcting the aircraft aileron control surfaces for wind direction. As the aircraft became airborne, it banked hard to the left, contacting the runway surface with the left hand wingtip fairing trailing edge and left aileron outer two inches of the trailing edge. The aircraft departed the runway onto the grassy area to the north of runway 14. At this point, privacy data omitted took command of the aircraft from privacy data omitted and made attitude, roll and heading corrections to the aircraft for a controlled flight. The aircraft crossed the runway 14/32 and 2/20 intersection while airborne. privacy data omitted Landed the aircraft in the grassy area to the south east of runway 14 approximately 50 feet off of the runway surface. The aircraft landed without further incident and was directed to the general aviation east ramp. Post flight walk around of the aircraft revealed one blade of the propeller had made contact with an object bending the outer four inches to the tip forward.
