From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On departure roll, aircraft experienced a propeller blade failure. One propeller blade departed the aircraft. Initial inspection of aircraft revealed that the blade broke away from approximatly 15 inches from the cener point of the propeller. The vibration from the missing propeller section caused substantial damage to the fuselage at the upper left engine mount attach point and the engine mount. The engine ring gear appeared to have contacted the left engine case half indicating engine crankshaft damage. The exhaust system was also damaged.

NTSB is having the propeller removed from the aircraft and sent out for evaluation.

This report will be ammended as more information becomes available.
