From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On October 26, 2014, at approximately 1130 CDT, a Mooney M20F operated byprivacy data omitted was involved in an incident upon landing during a 14 CFR part 91 flight. VFR conditions prevailed during the time of the incident.

Immediately prior to the incident flight, privacy data omitted had flown from Y19 to gaf with no difficulties reported. He stated that upon returning to Y19 from the east, he entered a left base for runway 13, and performed his landing checklist mentally. Additionally, privacy data omitted stated that, while correcting for a crosswind and turbulence, he had reached for the landing gear handle but does not remember extending the landing gear. However, he did state that he saw a yellow landing gear position light just prior to the aircraft contacting the runway. Maintenance reported that the aircrafts landing gear and indication operated normally after the incident. The aircraft sustained minor damage and there were no injuries. The pilot holds a commercial pilot rating.
