From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 10/23/2014 the aircraft owner was issued a ferry permit to travel from oakdale airport, California (O27) to Livermore airport, California (lvk) via direct to accomplish an overdue annual inspection. Prior to takeoff the pilot in command (PIC) stated that an extensive preflight was accomplished before takeoff. In addition, the PIC taxied the aircraft several times to ensure the aircraft brakes were working and the engine was functioning properly. After departing O27, the pilot orbited the airport for 25 to 30 minutes checking all flight controls and engine systems before continuing the flight to Livermore airport. Downwind at Livermore airport for landing on runway 7L, the aircraft was configured for landing at 1400 feet. The aircraft touched down on runway 7L midway between the approach end of the runway and taxiway g with idle power. During rollout the tower asked the PIC to exit at taxiway g. approximately 80 feet from taxiway the pilot applied the brakes at taxi speed and turned towards the taxiway. At about 15 to 20 mph and 40 feet from the taxiway the aircraft began to nose over. Pilot released the brakes, however the aircraft already started to slowly nose over and the propeller struck the ground damaging the propeller/nose cone and the forward lower cowling. The aircraft was righted and towed off the runway to the owner?s contracted maintenance hangar.

As the FAA filed it
