From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

Pilot a took control of the aircraft at approximately 800 feet AGL to demonstrate to pilot b how to perform autorotation training with pilot b acting as CFI - stage 2 training.

Pilot a failed to properly maintain speed of descent / forward speed needed to make the landing pad and instead crashed about 80 feet away from the pad. The rotorcraft bounced and rolled over approximately 2 times before coming to a stop.
