From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On December 18 2014 at approximately 0830 EDT the pilot of N24CP an RV-12 experimental category aircraft had to make an emergency landing on I-95 southbound exit 49 off ramp in daren, Georgia due to loss of fuel. The aircraft landed with no damage to the aircraft or injuries to the pilot in command. It was discovered that a fuel pressurization modification had been installed in the aircraft wing tanks to correct for a fuel indication problem. The fuel pressurization modification caused the fuel pressure to increase so much that the fuel was being dumped overboard through a standpipe vent underneath the plane.

As the FAA filed it
