From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The instructor and student pilot were returning from a flight. The student was in the left seat. As they returned to parking area there was a fuel truck parked along the taxiway leading to the parking spot, on the left side of the aircraft. The instructor called out to the student regarding the fuel truck, he acknowledged that he saw the truck. The instructor turned his attention to the right side of the aircraft where there were other aircraft parked. They determined they had enough clearance to proceed to the parking spot. As they proceeded slowly the left hand wing tip and le wing struck the left hand side mirror of the fuel truck. They immediately stopped and notified the tower. There were no injuries or fuel spilled. The instructor stated to me that the fuel truck is not normally parked in that location. The student was in the process of taking some refresher flights because he is in the process of requesting a statement of demonstrated ability from the FAA because of the limited vision in his left eye.

As the FAA filed it
