From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On January 19, 2014 at 2230Z - N3286X a Cessna 310 serial no. 310L-0136. The aircraft landed at Lancaster regional airport (klnc) Lancaster, Texas on runway 13 and exited at the end. During taxi operations the main landing gear retracted and the aircraft departed the taxiway resting on its tail with its nose gear still extended. All propeller blades came in contact with the surface while under power. Prior to the aircraft being removed it was determined that the nose gear also attempted to retract but remained extended but was unsafe. The flaps were still extended in the landing configuration. It was noted that the landing gear handle was in the down position. A recovery crane was used to lift the aircraft. Once the aircraft was lifted the main gear and gear doors were noted in the up position. When the master switch was turned on and battery power was made available the main gear doors opened and the main gear extended and locked in the down n position. During the interview with the pilot in command it was determined that he accidently retracted the landing gear instead of the flaps during his clean up after landing and so stated in the interview on 01/20/2014 at the Lancaster airport.
