From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

After returning from a solo cross country flight for training toward a private pilot certificate, the student pilot was cleared to parking via the inner taxiway (a designated non-movement area). While in motion on the marked inner taxiway, the left wing contacted an airport contractor's truck that was parked on the edge of the taxiway pavement. After the wing contacted the truck, the airplne spun around and the propeller contacted the rear bumper of the truck, stopping the engine. The aircraft was reported to have been on the centerline of the taxiway. The student reported not seeing the truck as it was in the shadows of a hangar. The truck was at this location while the contractors were eating lunch.

As the FAA filed it
