From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 1/29/2015 at approximately 1250 local, N704HQ, a Cessna C150M aircraft experienced engine problems while enroute from mgj to N07. Pilot made emergency landing on state route 23 in West Milford, NJ. The outboard, forward edge of the right-hand wing made contact with a tree during the landing, without receiving any structural damage. Frozen water and contaminates were drained from the fuel quick drain valve, adjacent to the fuel shut-off valve. Subsequent running of the engine revealed that the engine could be started, but would not continue to run when the throttle is advanced to full power. After the engine quits, it can be restarted with no issues, but again will not remain running with throttle advancement. This report may be amended in the future if additional information becomes available.
