From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot was performing "p" turns and started to gain altitude. Pilot stated that while gaining altitude, he lost RPM and airspeed. Pilot stated that he lowered collective and rolled throttle on, and turned west to avoid power lines. Pilot flared aircraft and made hard landing. Upon landing, aircraft rolled over onto right side. Pilot then turned off master power and egressed the aircraft.

On March 6, 2015, assisted the NTSB investigator with the helicopter and engine examination. Control continuity was established from the cabin controls to swashplate and tail rotor control rod. A test run was performed on the engine. The engine started and ran smoothly. Throttle bursts were applied and a magneto check was performed. The engine revealed no anomalies.
