From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot in command was taking off from a road in the country 15 miles south of Talkeetna, AK (tke). The road was snow and ice covered. The road had tire tracks from a vehicle in the snow about 3" deep that had frozen over. As the PIC was taking off, his landing gear tire got caught in the rut from the frozen car wheel tracks. At approximately 30MPH the PIC made a correction to get out of the rut which forced him into a 2' snow berm on the side of the road. The result of impacting the snow berm raised the airplane and lowered his right wing down into the ground. The right wing was bent and substantially damaged.
