The pilot was on takeoff roll when he heard a bump sound from the fuel pumps. Pilot decided to abort the takeoff and follow emergency shutdown procedures. However, the pilot had passed the threshold from the runway (overshot) and landed in a bank of sand in which sheared the main landing gear pins thus collapsing the gears. The damages were minimalto the landing gear pins, lower engine cowling and main tires fairing. No other major damages were visible and the pilot walked away from the aircraft with no injuries.
